Biography
Dr. Marylesa Howard has been with the Nevada National Security Sites (NNSS) for the past decade, filling roles primarily within the Stockpile Stewardship Program. She began as an analyst, developing algorithms, writing code, and deploying analysis techniques for image and signal data from subcritical experiments (SCE), and related data. Her work building supervised machine learning techniques for identifying material location in images and developing Bayesian techniques for image reconstruction are among the bodies of work of which she is most proud and most enjoyed. Participating in the SCE program at the underground U1a facility is also a highlight: it’s a unique work environment with an important mission and an amazing community of colleagues.
