Missy Lewis joined Ouachita Baptist University in 2017 and currently works in both Academic Affairs and IT Services in a variety of roles. Prior to joining Ouachita, Missy spent nearly 20 years working in public health in both the government and private sectors. Highlights of her career include managing the Public Health Preparedness Grant and the IT Project Management Office for the Florida Department of Health, where she assisted with the Department's anthrax response in 2001, served as the Planning Chief for the FDOH response to Hurricane Jeanne in 2004, and managed projects to replace the Vital Records system and the Public Health Management System. More recently, Missy successfully implemented the Arkansas Trauma Registry, working with over 70 hospitals around the state to collect trauma data for quality improvement initiatives to increase the effectiveness of the Arkansas Trauma System and improve patient outcomes in designated Trauma Centers around the state. She also implemented the Enterprise Wide Trauma Data Center, including the development of clinical dashboards and outcomes tracking reports, for HCA Healthcare, a Fortune 100 company that manages hospitals and health care facilities in 21 states and the United Kingdom. Missy has an undergraduate degree in Computing-Business from Furman University, a Master of Public Health from the University of South Carolina Arnold School of Public Health, and has been a Project Management Institute certified Project Manager since 2004.
