Description

Shelby Roberson is a proud alumni of Ouachita Baptist University where she completed her Bachelor's of Science degree in Dietetics/Nutrition. After college, Shelby went on to complete her Dietetic Internship and Master's degree at the University of Central Arkansas. After graduation and passing the RD exam, Shelby found a love for diabetes care and education while working at the Arkansas Heart Hospital. While working in the endocrinology clinic at the Heart Hospital, she gained experience in diabetes technology, including insulin pumps and continuous glucose monitor, which she now utilizes in her current practice serving rural communities of Arkansas through family practice and working with primary care providers. Shelby is 1 of 5 Certified Diabetes Educator at ARcare and leads the diabetes technology program within ARcare. On her off days, Shelby is an insulin pump trainer for Tandem Diabetes Care. She and her new husband, Brandon, live in Conway and enjoy cooking, going on breakfast dates, and taking their dogs Piper and Bella to the farmer's market on Saturdays. She presented in the morning and afternoon allied health panel sessions of OBU's Women in STEM conference held on March 20, 2021.
