The challenges of Deaf women in society are formed from the unique experience of living with two labels that garner mistreatment and discrimination in their daily lives. These challenges are explored in the context of Deaf history, the development of identity in the modern Deaf woman, and represented in the personal accounts of successful Deaf women from across the country.
