Abstract

Elizabeth Parker graduated from Ouachita Baptist College in 1919 with degrees in organ and voice. After World War I (WWI) she married Edward S. Couch, who had served in Europe during the war. They lived in Texarkana, where she began her career as a piano teacher. In addition to teaching, she served as organist at the Beech Street Baptist Church and was also choir director there for a time. By the late 1970s, arthritis in her hands made it almost impossible to play and forced her into retirement. Elizabeth Parker Couch died in 1991 at age ninety-three.

This collection includes Elizabeth Parker's 1919 diplomas from Ouachita Baptist College and a photograph.
