Abstract
Handwritten script on the title page of this scrapbook reads: "A Scrap Book of Arkansas History, Vol. I. This volume has been compiled by Mrs. J.H. Bell for future reference for the students who may study Arkansas History. Compiled by a student in the first class in which the History of Arkansas was taught in Henderson State Teachers College, Arkadelphia, Arkansas, Sept. 1, 1933."
The volume's second page says, "Dedicated to Dr. W.S. McNutt, Olin E. McKnight, George Allen Hubbell, Historians. To Dr. McNutt, who taught the first class in Arkansas History in Henderson State Teachers College, teaching his book, and to all other teachers who may follow." It was autographed by Walter Scott McNutt.
This 300-page bound scrapbook contains news clippings of interest to those studying the state's past.
