Abstract
Evelyn Bowden graduated from Ouachita Baptist College in 1931. She studied at Julliard School of Music in New York and received her Master of Music Degree from American Conservatory in 1940. During her career she worked as Professor of Music at Ouachita Baptist College and as a church organist. Bowden was an active member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Daughters of Colonial Wars, First Families of South Carolina, and Magna Charta Dames.
Bowden collected assorted programs from recitals and conservatory fine arts productions. Ouachita Baptist College Music Department, the Arkadelphia community, and Ouachita Baptist special events provided the bulk of programs for this collection. A few recital programs were gathered from the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra, Arkansas Orchestra Society, and various Baptist churches in Little Rock.
