Abstract
Margaret Burton was born in Osceola, Arkansas, the daughter of Irving S. and Rena Wiggs Burton. Like her father, she attended Ouachita Baptist College. Margaret married Raymond M. McCarty, and lived in Memphis, Tennessee, most of her life. She became the founding librarian at Colonial Baptist Church in 1961 and held that position for the rest of her life. Margaret McCarty died November 11, 2017, in Memphis, at the age of ninety-six.
This collection contains a large scrapbook documenting Margaret Burton's time as a student at Ouachita Baptist College as well as a 1912 yearbook from when her father, Irving Burton, attended the school.
