Abstract
James Cleo Berryman was born in Russellville, Arkansas, September 28, 1935. He studied at Ouachita Baptist (College) University and Southwestern Seminary. He spent his entire teaching career at Ouachita Baptist (College) University in Arkadelphia, Arkansas, serving as Professor of Religion and Philosophy and Chairman of the Department of Philosophy Department. In the Arkadelphia community, he was instrumental in the work of the Civitans, the Festival of Two Rivers, and the Joint Educational Consortium. He died July 20, 1993.
This collection contains Jim Berryman's research and teaching materials, correspondence, and memorabilia from Ouachita Baptist College. Included in the research and teaching materials are papers, articles, and publications on a variety of topics on theology, history, and the philosophy of religion. Dr. Berryman’s sermons contain research, manuscripts, and notes on many sermons delivered throughout his career. The memorabilia includes items from Ouachita Baptist College, Baylor University, and Southwestern Seminary, as well as a family Bible from 1795.
