Abstract
Stanley Stanford, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Stanford, grew up in Arkadelphia, Arkansas, graduated from Arkadelphia High School in 1939 and Ouachita Baptist College (now University) in 1943. Following graduation, he joined the United States Army and served three years, including eighteen months overseas in the Ninth Infantry Division during World War II (WWII). After his military service, he taught math and history, in addition to coaching in the public schools of Arkadelphia.
This collection contains memorabilia, photos, printed materials, and literature pertaining to World War II. Included are two panoramic photos of soldiers in Stanford’s WWII division, photos from family, and many newspaper articles about American culture during wartime.
