Dear Birkett, You did manage to get away before I got home, and I am now derning [?] if you have the kitchen key or if Rube lost it, but he says he gave it to you. If you have it send it home. It is still clowdy [sic] but no rain. [Unknown] tell yet who is elected State [unknown] but I hope [Unknown]-- I'll write a letter soon. Love from Mother Sept 18, 1908
