Abstract
The organizational meeting for Russellville Baptist Church was held September 10, 1873, at Russellville, Pope County, Arkansas. Four different--but similar--names for this church were found in the records: The Missionary Baptist Church, Russellville Missionary Baptist Church, Russellville Baptist Church, and First Baptist Church of Russellville. First Baptist Church of Russellville is currently affiliated with the Arkansas River Valley Baptist Association, the Arkansas Baptist State Convention, and Southern Baptist Convention.
Two ledgers contain names of members, minutes of proceedings, rules of decorum, the church covenant, and order of business. Both ledgers include a record of the church's organizational meeting in 1873.
